This isn’t totally mental health related I know. I mean. Well. In a way I guess it is. Music is great therapy. And my greatest therapy is Placebo. I’ve been in love with Placebo since I was a teenager, ever since I first heard Every you Every Me. I was obsessed with that song, I requested it every where I went. For me Placebo have been a place of solace, they’ve always been there for me. Always. When I’m feeling down, when I’m feeling manic, when I’m feeling agitated or anxious. When I’m sad or lonely. When I’m happy or feeling celebratory. There’s Placebo for all occasions. All I have to do is put the head phones on and listen. They’ll always be there.
So here they are, my top five favourite Placebo songs. It was hard to narrow it down to just five of course but I managed.
“Carve your name into my arm
Instead of stressed I lie here charmed
Case there’s nothing else to do
Every me and every you”
“I was alone staring over the ledge
Trying my best not foget
All manner of Joy, all manner of glee”
“I seem to lose the power of speech
You’re slipping slowly from my reach”
“I’ll be your ether you’ll breathe me in
You won’t release
We’ll I’ve seen you suffer, I’ve seen you cry the whole night through
So I’ll be your water bathing you clean”
Honestly, I don’t speak a word of french but come on, this version is beautiful.
